Vrkoče na hlave - Cable hat

Som rada keď zákazníci chcú uštrikovať niečo, čo som ešte nerobila. Takto mám možnosť vyskúšať si veci, ktoré by som sama od seba nerobila. Ako napríklad túto rohatú copatú čiapku. Vyzerá parádne.

I like knitting for my customers. They make me knit things that I normally wouldn´t do. Just like this cable hat with a horn. It turned out just perfect.

Čiapočku som štrikovala z vlny Mille colori baby  a Baby alpaca silk s 3mm ihlicami. Štrikovala som s dvoma "nitkami" naraz. Začínala som na 100 očiek. Je veľmi pružná, vhodná na detské hlavy. Zeleno hnedé klbko som minula skoro celé.

I made this hat out of Mille colori baby and Baby alpaca silk knitting with 3mm needles. I knitted with two strands of yarn, beginning on 100 stitches. The beanie is very stretchy, ready to accomodate different sizes of kids heads. For this project I used almost all of the green brown yarn and just a bit of the other.

Vzor je veľmi jednoduchý. Striedame očká nasledovne: *2o, 2h, 2o, 4h*. V každom 10tom riadku (tam kde sú 4 hladké očká ) prekrížime očká a vytvoríme osmičku. Prvé dve hladké očka (z tých štyroch) dáme na pomocnú ihlicu. Nechala som ich v predu. Ďalšie dve očká na ľavej ihlici uštrikujeme hladko a za nimi uštrikujeme hladko aj dve očká na pomocnej ihlici. The pattern is really simple. You repeat the stitches like this: *2p, 2k, 2p, 4k*. I did the crossing every 10 rows (you make the crossing on the 4k stitches). We put the first two stitches (out of the 4k) on a cable needle and leave them in front of our work. We knit the next two stitches on our left needle and then we knit the two stitches from the cable needle. You can find a video how to knit cables here. 

Ak chcete mať pekný vrch čiapky (teda taký hladký, bez zbytočných záhybov), treba uberať v každom druhom riadku. Ja som najprv zoštrikovala 2 obratké očké, potom druhé dve obratké očká. ďalej dve hladké očká. Nakoniec som zo 4 haldkých urobila dve, neskôr jedno. Nakoniec som striedajúce sa hladké a obratké očká zoštrikovala spolu a ostali mi len hladké očká.

S uberaním očiek som skrátila aj interval kríženia očiek. Môžete ich prekrížiť už v 6 - 7 - 8 radku. Podľa toho ako sa vám to páči. 

If you want to have a flat top on the hat, you have to decrease the stitches every other row. Firstly I purled together the two purl stitches, than the other two purl stitches, then I knitted together the two knit stitches. Then I knitted together two and then the next two stitches of the cable. In the end I knitted them together too. Now I had only knit and purl stitches repeating. I knitted them together too and I got left only with knit stitches. 

With the decreasing I reduced the rows between the crossings of the cable. You can cross them every 6 - 7 - 8 row. Just how you like it. 

Roh uštrikujete tak, že budete dokola štrikovať malé množstvo očiek. Na konci ich len stiahnete zvyšnou vlnou, tak ako by ste to spravili aj na obyčajnej čiapke.

When you knit small amount of stitches in the round, you will make the "horn". In the end you just pull the end of the yarn through the stitches just like you would do on the top of a regular hat.
